The Toyota Corolla “Sporty” for the Japanese and North American markets received its facelift before the end of 2022. Now, markets that get the “Prestige” version of the Corolla are getting the update. You might be thinking that it’s still pretty early for the Corolla Altis to get an update, and you’d be forgiven for that because most people still think 2019 isn’t that far off. However, the fact of the matter is that the Corolla Altis is almost four years old, meaning it’s due for a well-deserved makeover from Toyota.
Just recently, Toyota Thailand unveiled the facelifted version of the Corolla Altis, and much like the updates for the Corolla “Sporty”, you’re gonna have to look really hard for the new stuff. In terms of exterior changes, the 2023 updates primarily focus on the grille, front bumpers, and wheel designs.

Toyota has introduced the Polygon Design to the grille, imparting a revamped appearance to the vehicle. Subtle modifications have been made to the bumpers to accommodate the updated foglight housings, which again, requires a keen eye to detect. Additionally, the headlight clusters now boast new patterns, featuring a design reminiscent of the Camry model.

Inside, there isn’t much to report as the interior of the 2023 model remains largely unchanged. In Thai-spec models, the Corolla Altis features a unique infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The GR Sport variant, on the other hand, stands out with its fully digital instrument cluster, adding a touch of modernity to the driving experience. Aside from the digital cluster, Toyota says the Corolla GR Sport receives exclusive steering calibration, specifically tailored for this variant. Additionally, the under-chassis has been enhanced with sportier springs, a thicker stabilizer bar at the rear, and stiffer dampers.
Finally, when it comes to propulsion, the 2023 Corolla Altis retains all of its engines from the current model. These of course include the standard 1.6-liter engine while at the pinnacle of the lineup is the hybrid variant, which continues to utilize a 1.8-liter engine combined with an electric motor. In addition to these engines, Toyota Thailand offers the Corolla Altis with a non-hybrid 1.8-liter option for the purists.
