The highly anticipated 2024 Nissan Z NISMO model geared towards track performance is almost here, and the automaker has provided enthusiasts with a thrilling 45-second teaser video that offers a closer look at the upcoming car. While previous spy photos of the NISMO had been circulating, this video gives us the most detailed glimpse yet.
Right off the bat, the video showcases a distinct body kit that immediately catches the eye. While the standard Z model is already bold in its appearance, the NISMO variant takes it a step further, exuding a more aggressive aura. The front and rear bumpers of the NISMO feature a sharper and more angular design, while the iconic NISMO red stripe, a trademark of the brand, makes a comeback, tracing the lower portion of the car from the front splitter to the rear diffuser. Additionally, a new duckbill spoiler extends over the wheel arches, lending the car a subtly enhanced stance.

The highly anticipated 2024 Nissan Z NISMO model geared towards track performance is almost here, and the automaker has provided enthusiasts with a thrilling 45-second teaser video that offers a closer look at the upcoming car. While previous spy photos of the NISMO had been circulating, this video gives us the most detailed glimpse yet.
Right off the bat, the video showcases a distinct body kit that immediately catches the eye. While the standard Z model is already bold in its appearance, the NISMO variant takes it a step further, exuding a more aggressive aura. The teaser video also stars Chris Forsberg, a three-time Formula Drift champion, who skillfully maneuvers the NISMO Z around a racetrack. However, what grabs the attention of enthusiasts are the actual tires being put to the test. The NISMO Z swaps out the standard model’s Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires for stickier Dunlop SP Sport Maxx summer tires. This tire upgrade alone is expected to significantly enhance the Z’s performance, as many have previously expressed concerns about the regular model’s tires being easily overwhelmed.
There is speculation that the NISMO-tuned Z may feature a considerable power increase, but concrete details are yet to be revealed by Nissan. The base model currently boasts a potent twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine generating 400 hp and 475 Nm of torque. However, rumors suggest that the NISMO version could potentially deliver up to 500 hp, which is very doable considering that it is turbocharged. Notably, the video showcases an automatic variant of the NISMO Z, as indicated by the presence of steering-wheel-mounted paddles, leaving enthusiasts curious about the availability of the regular Z’s six-speed manual transmission, but we could still expect Nissan to offer a manual option as with the current regular Z.
While the regular Nissan Z has yet to be officially released locally (though there are rumors), it is very exciting that Nissan already has a hotter Z in the pipeline, but of course, let’s wait until the regular Z reaches the Philippine shores first.
