The long wait for the all-new Triton/Strada pickup continues to feel longer with Mitsubishi’s extensive teaser campaign for its new truck. Alongside the complete redesign of its exterior and interior, the company says that the ladder frame chassis, suspension, and diesel powertrain are all brand-new, built from the ground up. Up until now, we have been treated to a series of teaser images showcasing the forthcoming next-generation pickup truck. Additionally, Mitsubishi Ralliart has been actively testing camouflaged trucks in preparation for this year’s Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR). We’ve got the overall picture of the Strada, as for specifics, however, it seems we will have to wait a bit more.
The Japanese automaker says the new truck will deliver enhanced safety, comfort, and performance across various weather conditions and road surfaces. The upcoming generation is set to bring notable advancements compared to its predecessor, which has been in existence since 2015 and received a substantial facelift in 2018. The “safe and secure driving experience” will be delivered by a new ladder frame chassis complemented by a new double-wishbone front suspension and a leaf spring rear, which are expected to deliver exceptional driving performance and ride comfort.

Furthermore, the 2024 Mitsubishi Triton Strada will be equipped with a new clean turbo-diesel engine. While precise details regarding displacement and output figures have not been revealed, the automaker emphasized significant reductions in friction loss and an increase in power output. Since Mitsubishi is giving us a crumb trail to follow leading up to the truck’s debut, hopefully, we’ll have all the important info before the big reveal.

“Having the full model change of all-new Triton for the first time in about nine years, we have newly developed the engine, suspension, interior and exterior, which has resulted in significant improvements in driving performance, comfort and safety.”
Toshiki Masuda
Chief Product Specialist, Mitsubishi Motors
Masuda added that the designers and engineers have taken diligent consideration of customer feedback. To see if the new Triton is up to snuff, extensive development testing was conducted in challenging environments, ensuring that the upcoming product meets the demands of a wide range of users.
The sixth-generation Mitsubishi Triton will be unveiled in Bangkok, Thailand, with a global live-stream broadcast to reach audiences worldwide. After it makes its debut, Team Mitsubishi Ralliart will participate in the Asia Cross Country Rally (AXCR) with a rally-prepared version of the pickup, further highlighting the vehicle’s capabilities and performance in a competitive setting.
