The initial official images of the 2024 Sorento showcase a completely reworked front fascia, mainly to accommodate the striking T-shaped headlights with an upper daytime running light strip flanking the Kia logo. An interesting change is that the Kia badge is no longer positioned on the grille; it has been relocated to the bottom of the hood. The grille itself features a new design, as does the lower air intake, which continues to house separate fog lights. Additionally, the vertical air curtains seem to be slightly larger, and a silver skid plate adds a touch of ruggedness.

While the Sorento is undergoing a midcycle update, unlike the Santa Fe, which received a full redesign, we were still eager to see what modifications Kia had in store. Surprisingly, the facelift brought substantial visual revisions to the SUV, even though the fourth-gen model had been revealed only three years prior, making it still feel relatively fresh.

Although the mid-cycle update preserves the side profile of the Sorento, Kia introduces freshly designed alloy wheels, adding a dash of modernity. At the rear, discreetly revised taillights with new graphics now meet at the front, departing from the separated units seen on the pre-facelifted model. Notably, Kia appears to have repositioned the reverse lights even lower, neatly tucked beneath the silver skid plate.
Inside the vehicle, the interior maintains its familiar layout, but there are some noticeable changes to the dashboard. The previously chunky vertical air vents in the center have been replaced with much slimmer vents to create space for an enlarged touchscreen infotainment system. Kia has also given the climate controls a modern update, replacing the old-school display with capacitive buttons, similar to those found in the EV6 and Sportage models. Additionally, the Sorento now features a fingerprint authentication system, borrowed from other models within the Hyundai Motor Group. Furthermore, there are new interior color options available, such as Interstellar Grey, Volcanic S, Brown, and Cityscape Green.
As expected from the Hyundai/Kia/Genesis brand, the initial reveal focuses solely on the design updates and the technical specifications of the 2024 Sorento will be disclosed later in mid-August. The wait for further details on performance, engine options, and additional features will undoubtedly keep enthusiasts and potential buyers on their toes.
