2021 saw the arrival of the third-generation D-MAX, a handsome rival to the likes of the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, and the Nissan Navara. Just recently, the D-MAX was given some mid-cycle updates to keep it in fighting form against its other competitors. This time around, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) is bringing out a limited-production version of its pickup truck.
Right now, all the information we have comes from an unveiled teaser video offering a sneak peek at the forthcoming special edition D-MAX. While the video provides only a brief glimpse, it strongly suggests that the upcoming model will be named “Limited” and potentially incorporate design elements reminiscent of previous limited edition D-MAX models like the X-Series and Boondock pickups.

The most obvious of changes is the addition of chunky Yokohama Geolandar all-terrain tires and black alloy wheels which were lifted from the also limited Boondock edition D-MAX. Although it’s not a new design, the alloy wheels still hold up today in terms of looks, so this tire and wheel combo would still grab the attention of potential buyers.

Aside from the big wheels and tires, you’ll notice that the D-MAX Limited is garnished with numerous red accents. These red accents can be found on the Isuzu badge, the front bumper, the tailgate, and the decals found on the D-MAX’s side. Since we’re on the topic of the tailgate, the badging on the right side of the truck is an indication of the engine powering the D-MAX Limited.

The upcoming special edition D-MAX is set to feature the 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX turbo-diesel engine as its standard power unit. Since the 4×4 LS-A and LS-E variants come with a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic respectively, we can expect the Limited to be offered with a choice between the two.
For now, all information we have about the D-MAX Limited is literally limited to a short teaser video. Prices and launch dates are not available yet but we’ll be ready to report on that once they’re out in the open.
