According to Hyundai, around 50 percent of tasks are executed by a total of 200 robots, showcasing an unprecedented level of collaboration between humans, robotics, and AI systems. Robots handle assembly, inspection, and organization of the production facility, managing over 60 percent of component process management, ordering, and transportation. This liberation of humans from repetitive and labor-intensive tasks allows them to concentrate on more creative and productive responsibilities.
In addition, Alpesh Patel, Vice President and Head of the Technology Innovation Group at HMGICS says the smaller footprint of facilities like HMGICS facilitates proper integration into local communities, especially in urban areas constrained by limited space. The facility held its grand opening a few days ago on November 21, 2023, with the doors to Hyundai’s extremely advanced facility opening to the public shortly after.
