More things to look forward to in 2024 from Hyundai Motor Philippines. The brand is bringing its all-new fifth-generation Santa Fe to the country. On top of that, the N brand will also make itself known next year. Hyundai Motor Philippines hasn’t made it clear yet what specifications, variants, and models will be made available, but we have a bit of an idea as to what is coming very soon.
First off, the Santa Fe. Hyundai’s best-selling midsize crossover has been in the market for quite some time now, and after a recent global update, we’ve finally confirmed from Hyundai Motor Philippines that the model is slated for our market very soon. The brand did not make mention of the specifications of the model yet, but we managed to ascertain that there might be a few things of note.
The brand simply previewed the model, and while we cannot speak of its specifications just yet, we’re sure that the model will get a 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. Whether or not the model will come with a hybrid is not yet confirmed, but it is also available. As for the specifications of the powertrains, the gasoline-only variant will come with up to 277 hp. Meanwhile, the hybrid will get up to 262 hp, but it gets its grunt from a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with electric motors for the front and the rear. There are all-wheel-drive variants available in other markets, but we have yet to confirm what models Hyundai will bring. We reckon that the two-wheel drive models will also be made available here.
However, with the futuristic adventure look that the Santa Fe comes with, it might be best-specced as an outdoorsy car. The model looks and feels like it was made to go on the dirt, but we cannot deny that it is also a handsome car that can mesh well in the city. LEDs are everywhere, the grille looks sleek but ready for adventure, and the rear has low-mounted lights that may or may not appeal to everyone (we dig it, though).
Apart from that bombshell of an announcement, Hyundai Motor Philippines also told us to stay tuned for their performance brand, N, which is slated for a debut next year. Like the Santa Fe, nothing was set in stone, but the brand did showcase its latest IONIQ 5 N on the screen which could be the brand saying something. Either way, we’re excited about whatever Hyundai has to offer in the market next year.
We’re excited to see what Hyundai has in store. Apart from the two main headliners, the brand also announced a stronger dealer presence in the future and enhanced customer experience. We cannot wait to see how their plans will unfold in 2024, but first, we cannot wait to get our hands on the 2024 Santa Fe for a proper review.
