The Hyundai Staria, in terms of looks, is one of the most futuristic-looking vehicles on the road today. It’s only fitting then that a vehicle like the Staria is put to use by an executive department in our government that furthers the growth of science and technology in the country.

On December 14, 2023, Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. (HMPH) formally presented three Hyundai Staria commuter units to the Department of Science and Technology – Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII). These vehicles will be used to support the department’s initiative, the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated KioskS (STARBOOKS), as well as its broadcast platform, DOSTv: Science for the People. The event was attended by HMPH President Mr. Dong Wook Lee and HMPH Managing Director Mr. Cecil Capacete, with greetings from DOST Secretary Dr. Renato Solidum Jr., DOST Undersecretary Ms. Maridon Sahagun, and DOST-STII Director Mr. Richard Burgos.

The intention is to forge a multifaceted collaboration that extends beyond mobility solutions, aiming for a comprehensive partnership that aligns with the evolving needs and aspirations of Filipino society.”
