Safety features have also been upgraded with the addition of eight airbags and the introduction of a distance-keeping automatic cruise control system, All-Speed Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, capable of functioning at speeds up to 0 km/h. While Toyota keeps the vehicle’s 1.8-liter hybrid engine, there is speculation about the possibility of a new 2.0-liter gasoline engine variant. However, it is still vague if this engine option will be available in Thailand or other markets, including the Philippines.

The Toyota Corolla Cross first launched in the Philippines on August 20, 2020, offering two models: the 1.8 G and the 1.8 V Hybrid. Priced at P1,285,000 for the 1.8 G CVT and P1,650,000 for the 1.8 V Hybrid, the vehicle gave consumers another choice among the crossover lineup. In March 2022, Toyota expanded the Corolla Cross lineup with the introduction of a new hybrid GR Sport variant.

It’s no secret that the Corolla Cross has been well-received in the Philippines. So, with Thailand set to launch the upgraded vehicle in February 2024, the Philippines keep their fingers crossed, hoping to see the upgraded Corolla Cross on their roads.

Will we get it, too? Stay tuned, and let’s see what Toyota has in store for the Filipino market.
