The Toyota Corolla Cross was first launched in 2020 serving as Toyota’s compact crossover slotting below the RAV4. Now that it is almost four years old on the market, Toyota feels it’s time to give the Corolla Cross some TLC and a makeover. For this update, Toyota Thailand is giving the Corolla Cross a few exterior upgrades and some additional tech.
The most noticeable update is found in the front fascia. In the 2024 models, Corolla Cross versions tailored for the European, Japanese, and ASEAN markets will feature distinct front designs. Departing from the pre-facelift model’s separate grille assembly, the updated Corolla Cross adopts a body-colored finish and a honeycomb pattern. At first glance, you might even mistake it for an electric vehicle.

Moreover, the model introduces a fresh set of LED crystalized headlights featuring sequential turn signals. These headlights are linked with the Toyota emblem through a trim piece, mirroring a wrap-around design. Moving to the sides, the Corolla Cross in Thailand introduces new wheel designs tailored to each variant, available in sizes ranging from 16 to 18 inches. Exterior updates at the rear include a fresh pattern for the taillights and a subtly revised rear bumper. These alterations apply to both non-hybrid and hybrid Corolla Cross models, except the GR model.

Inside, the updated Corolla Cross has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster alongside a 10.1-inch infotainment system compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Amenities encompass a wireless charging pad, USB Type-C ports, dual-zone air conditioning, and an enhanced Toyota Safety Sense ADAS suite. In addition, Toyota has taken the foot-operated parking brake away in exchange for a new electric parking brake with an auto-hold function.

Mechanically, there are no changes under the hood for the Corolla Cross. The facelifted version retains the 1.8-liter 138 hp non-hybrid engine, and the hybrid variant continues to utilize nickel metal hydride (Ni-MH) batteries instead of lithium-ion, delivering a combined output of 120 hp.
As for the question of whether the facelifted Corolla Cross will reach the Philippines, we can expect it to come quite soon. because the Philippines sources its units from Thailand. For now, though, the current Corolla Cross is still available for purchase here in the country. You can check out the full lineup of the Corolla Cross on AutoDeal.com.ph.
