GWM Tank 500
The GWM Tank 500 is a larger SUV, an upgrade from the Tank 300, and is made with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) drive system that generates strong power, making it ideal for different roads. The vehicle could really be a hit with Filipino families, or those who enjoy outdoor adventures, and the Philippine market’s growing interest in hybrid technology could make the Tank 500 an attractive option. However, its success in the local market will most likely depend on factors like its price compared to other popular SUVs in the market, fuel efficiency, and how it stacks up against other popular SUVs.

P-Series P500

The pick-up truck is set to arrive in petrol hybrid and diesel versions. The petrol HEV model has a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 255 kW and 648 N.m, along with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The diesel model has a 135 kW and 480 N.m 2.4-litre turbocharged engine. Both models come with four-wheel drive and can tow up to 3.5 tonnes. Given the popularity of adaptable, high-performance trucks in the Philippines, the P-Series P500 could find a stable customer base, especially among those who need a vehicle for both personal and commercial use.
Haval H7
The Haval H7 will be available in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and HEV versions. The ICE model has a 170 kW and 380 N.m 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, while the HEV version combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with electric power, totaling 179 kW and 530 N.m. Its success in the Philippines could hinge on its luxury features, performance, and how well it competes with other SUVs in terms of fuel economy and price.
Jolion and Jolion Pro
The Jolion range is updated with five different specification levels, with the higher models featuring more advanced suspension systems for a smoother ride. The City and Super Luxury models feature a MacPherson front suspension and torsion beams at the rear. Higher-end models come with a MacPherson front suspension and a multi-link independent suspension system at the rear. All models are powered by a 1.5-litre engine, with the HEV variant featuring a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Jolion could attract those looking for a compact, stylish SUV in the Philippines, provided, of course, it’s priced competitively.
