H2009002 Lalaking Tamad Ginamit ang Kapit para Makapanlamang

Earlier this year, American tuning company Shelby American introduced two performance versions of iconic Ford nameplates. The first is the 2024 Shelby Super Snake, a performance version of the new S660 Mustang that produces more than 830 hp, and the second is the Ford Shelby F-150, a more powerful version of the 2024 F-150.

This time, Shelby American has set its sights on upgrading another Ford vehicle, the F-150 Raptor. Called the Shelby Baja Raptor, two performance packages are available for this performance truck, one for the 3.5-liter EcoBoost powered variant and one for the supercharged 5.2-liter V8 beast.

The 2024 Shelby Baja Raptor, equipped with a V6 engine, boasts 550 hp from its twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost. Enhancements include a one-piece heat shield, a performance intake tube, an open-air intake with a high-flow filter, and an aluminum intercooler.

550 hp isn’t where it ends though because the the Raptor R variant features the GT500’s supercharged 5.2-liter Predator V8 engine, delivering over 900 hp. Shelby adds a 3.8-liter Whipple supercharger and a Borla exhaust to this beast. Both Raptor versions come with a BDS suspension lift kit, 18-inch Shelby Raptor Flow forged wheels, 37-inch tires, and enhanced cooling features. Do note however that in order to achieve the full potential of these engines, 93 octane gasoline is needed to fuel these hardcore trucks

As the name implies, Shelby’s package also includes various exterior upgrades, such as the distinctive Baja Raptor hood with functional vents, a custom grille featuring LED lights, and plenty of Shelby branding. The Ford truck also gains steel bumpers for added protection and utility, equipped with recovery points, two 10-inch LED driving lights, a 30-inch LED light bar, and additional vents. The rear bumper includes two square LED lights as well. Inside, Shelby branding appears on embroidered floor mats and on fully reupholstered leather seats with red accents. Billet racing pedals and a serialized dash plaque complete the cabin’s enhancements. All in all, Shelby has ensured this truck is close to being Baja rally-ready right out of the showroom.

On the matter of price, the V6 performance package is priced at $51,995 USD or P3,268,351 in Philippine pesos while the V-8 Raptor R upgrade is available for $54,995 USD or P3,144,036 when converted to Philippine pesos. These prices are exclusive of the base pickup, meaning they are additional to the Raptor’s MSRP. The 2024 F-150 Raptor starts at $80,435 USD which is about P4,598,428, we’ll let you do the math for the rest.  Shelby notes that these trucks will be produced in limited quantities, though the exact number hasn’t been disclosed.

Baja Raptor

While the Shelby Baja Raptor isn’t officially available in the Philippines, the Ford Ranger Raptor offers a similar off-roading thrill. Plus, at P2,345,000, it’s a heck of a lot cheaper than importing a tricked-out F-150 Raptor from the United States. Check it out now on AutoDeal.com.ph along with other great Ford vehicles.
