Additionally, most respondents want EVs with longer driving ranges and reduced maintenance expenses. Demand for practical capabilities is high, with 85% prioritizing off-road features and towing capacity in their ideal EV.
For daily use, respondents are drawn to EVs for delivery services, ride-sharing, and commuting. Interestingly, over half said they’d be more likely to date someone who drives an EV, while 81% believe EVs leave a great first impression.
Infrastructure remains the biggest roadblock, with 39% citing inadequate charging stations as a concern. Nearly half of the respondents are unaware of charging facilities within 20 km of their homes. To address this, Filipinos prefer to see charging points at service stations, supermarkets, and parks.
Misconceptions also persist, with nearly half believing home EV charging costs as much as refueling a gasoline vehicle. These myths highlight the need for education to promote EV adoption.
