After debuting in South Korea last May, Kia’s updated EV6 has now made its way to the U.S., giving us a clearer look at the enhancements. The refreshed design includes sharper headlights, while the interior receives subtle refinements. Aside from the exterior, there is more good news, as Kia has also provided many technical upgrades for the EV crossover.

The 2025 Kia EV6 will continue to be available in four trims: Light, Wind, GT-Line, and the high-performance GT. Kia has upgraded the EV6’s battery packs, increasing the entry-level Light trim’s capacity from 58.0 kWh to 63.0 kWh. The base model retains its single rear-mounted motor, producing 167 hp and 349 Nm of torque. All other trims now feature a larger 84.0-kWh battery pack, up from 77.4 kWh.

Kia targets a range of 319 miles (513 kilometers) for rear-wheel-drive versions of the Light Long Range, Wind, and GT-Line trims, a nine-mile (14.4 kilometers) increase over the 2024 models. These RWD variants generate 225 hp and 349 Nm of torque. The AWD versions of these variants will bump the power up to 320 hp and 604 Nm of torque thanks to the addition of a second motor. Additional updates to the Kia EV6 across the lineup include relocating the charging port to the left rear fender and replacing the CCS port with the NACS-style port, a slightly bigger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a new three-spoke steering wheel, and a redesigned center console.

The GT model, the sole variant available for the Philippines, gets some extra TLC from Kia. Starting with power, the GT-line gets a standard output of 460 hp which can be bumped up to 601 hp with a flick of the Sport mode button. Torque remains the same in Normal or Sport mode at 738 Nm. In GT mode, however, the performance soars to 641 hp and 770 Nm of torque, up from the previous peak of 576 hp in the 2024 EV6 GT. This matches the output of its corporate sibling, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. The EV6 GT also adopts the Ioniq 5 N’s new Virtual Gear Shift feature, simulating mechanical gear changes by modulating electric motor torque. Additionally, the GT enhances the driving experience with artificial engine sounds in the cabin.

Kia EV6 Rear Quarter

Last but not least, the updated EV6 features subtle aesthetic changes, most notably the new triangular-shaped headlights. A slim LED daytime running light above the main headlight unit connects to an illuminated strip that spans the glossy black trim. The lower grille now sports a trapezoidal geometric pattern. While the curved, full-width taillights retain their shape, the LED graphics have been refreshed, and the rear bumper has been redesigned. Additionally, the EV6 now offers new wheel designs, available in 19- or 21-inch sizes depending on the trim but still bearing the geometric designs that its predecessors had.

Kia EV6 Profile

Will the refreshed Kia EV6 make its way to the Philippines? Kia Philippines has yet to share any updates, and with the U.S. launch only recently taking place, it may be a while before the new EV6 arrives locally. However, the current EV6 GT-Line available in the Philippines remains an impressive piece of engineering. A glance at its specs will show you why. You can explore more on AutoDeal.com.ph.
