Electric vehicles are gaining popularity, and Makati is making it more convenient to own. ACMobility, the Ayala Group’s electric vehicle (EV) solutions arm, is expanding its charging network in Makati City. By the first quarter of 2025, the city will have 74 charging points spread across 18 locations, including offices, malls, and condominiums.

The expansion will help residents and visitors easily charge their EVs, making Makati a stronger hub for electric mobility. Currently, Makati hosts 47 EV charging points in places like Valero 2, Dela Rosa 1, and the Makati Stock Exchange. ACMobility plans to add 27 more, including 19 fast chargers that reduce charging time. New stations will include ultra-fast chargers at Corinthian and Legaspi car parks. Several stations will also operate 24/7 to serve users at any time of day.

Mayor Abby Binay shared that this expansion fits Makati’s goal of using cleaner technologies and making them accessible to more residents. ACMobility CEO Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala added that Makati’s efforts show how electric mobility can thrive in urban areas.

The project is part of ACMobility’s plan to boost EV use across the Philippines by providing reliable charging infrastructure. Carla Buencamino, Head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility, said the company is ready to support other cities as they adopt electric vehicles.

As Makati continues to grow its EV network, it is making the way for more Filipinos to change to electric vehicles, helping create a greener future for transportation in the country.
