BYD isn’t slowing down. Just a short while ago, BYD introduced the Shark 6 DM-O to the local market, and now a new all-electric sedan has been added to BYD’s lineup in China. The Seal 06 EV has been listed by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), confirming key details about its battery options, range, and design.

The car comes with two battery choices—a 46.08 kWh pack that delivers 470 km of range and a 56.6 kWh pack that extends it to 545 km under CLTC testing. These Blade lithium iron phosphate batteries weigh 350 kg and 410 kg, depending on the version, and contribute to the car’s overall weight of 1,670 kg or 1,800 kg. Two powertrain options will be available. The higher-output model produces 160 kW (215 hp), while the lower-output version generates 110 kW (148 hp). Both variants have a top speed of 160 km/h. In terms of size, the Seal 06 EV measures 4,720 mm long, 1,880 mm wide, and 1,495 mm tall, with a 2,820 mm wheelbase. Compared to the Seal 06 GT, this EV version is 90 mm longer and 5 mm taller. Interestingly, its battery specs and body dimensions match the BYD Qin L EV, suggesting they share the same platform.

The Seal 06 EV follows BYD’s “ocean aesthetics” design, featuring a closed front grille, sharp headlights, semi-hidden door handles, and a “Chinese knot” taillight design that spans the width of the car. Unlike the Seal 06 DM-i plug-in hybrid, this version replaces the “Build Your Dreams” badge with a new BYD emblem. The biggest tech upgrade in the Seal 06 EV is BYD’s “God’s Eye” C intelligent driving system (DiPilot 100), which includes three cameras mounted on the windshield, along with additional cameras on the front fenders and rear spoiler.

With the Seal 06 lineup already offering the Seal 06 DM-i and Seal 06 GT, this new EV model provides an all-electric alternative. BYD has been expanding its presence in the Philippines, especially with the recent launch of the Shark 6 DM-O, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Seal 06 EV follows next.
