If Haval had big plans, this is probably it. GWM is preparing for the international debut of the Haval H7, a rebranded version of its Second-Generation Big Dog. The H7 will first launch in South Africa on January 15 and is expected to roll out to other global markets shortly after.

GWM’s Haval H7 has much in common with the Second-Generation Big Dog sold in China. The SUV features round headlights and a polygonal grille with chrome accents, displaying the HAVAL logo in the center. Multi-spoke rims, rivet details on the wheel arches, and a roof rack complete its rugged look. While GWM hasn’t confirmed the dimensions of the H7, the Second-Generation Big Dog measures 4,705 mm in length, 1,908 mm in width, and 1,780 mm in height, with a 2,810 mm wheelbase, providing a good idea of its size.
The H7 will be available in gasoline and plug-in hybrid variants. While full specifications for the H7 are not yet available, the PHEV version of the Big Dog in China is powered by GWM’s Hi4 hybrid system. The setup includes a 1.5T engine paired with dual electric motors and a 2-speed DHT. Depending on the trim, the engine outputs 123 kW/243 Nm or 113 kW/233 Nm, while the motors can deliver up to 220 kW/510 Nm combined.
