Electric cars are picking up slowly in the country, and BYD is one of the brands slowly taking over our roads. The carmaker just launched a new electric car in China, and it’s called the E7. With how often we’re seeing BYD cars like the Dolphin, Seal, and Atto 3 on Philippine roads lately, this new EV could be something we might see here soon too.

The BYD E7 is a mid-size electric sedan with prices ranging from 103,800 to 115,800 yuan, or around P840k to P935k. It comes in three variants, and buyers can choose between two driving ranges: 450 km or 520 km (based on CLTC test standards). This model is part of BYD’s e-series for younger drivers and is also seen as a good option for taxis.
The car has a closed front end that BYD says forms a “smiley face” design. The BYD badge is placed in the center of the front, and there are raised lines on the hood. The back has a layered design, with a ducktail, long rear lights that stretch across, and extra lights near the bottom. There’s also a clear “E7” badge on the lower right of the trunk. The car uses regular pull-type door handles, showing that it’s made to be simple and affordable.
