Evro, the country’s first e-mobility app that works with all brands, has teamed up with Shell Pilipinas to connect Shell Recharge stations to the Evro platform. This is the first time two major EV charging networks have joined forces in the Philippines, giving users a smoother experience. With this update, drivers can now find Shell’s chargers on the Evro app, along with chargers from other networks, and use just one account for everything.
The partnership was officially announced on July 10 during a signing event at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. The first Shell charging stations are already working with the Evro app, and full nationwide access is expected by September. Evro was made to solve a common problem among EV users. Many charging stations in the country belong to different networks, and each one needs its own app, account, and payment method. Evro combines these networks into one app, so users can find, start, monitor, and pay for charging sessions easily, whether the charger is from a partner provider or not.
With Shell Recharge now part of Evro’s platform, EV drivers can tap into one of the largest charging networks in the country using a single app. Shell has around 30 charging points placed in key areas like highways, malls, and business centers. This makes it easier for drivers to plan their trips and charge where it’s most convenient. The first batch of connected Shell stations includes stops in Taguig, Laguna, La Union, and several shopping malls in Metro Manila.

Evro users can now check the availability of Shell chargers in real-time, start or stop charging, and pay directly through the app. There’s no need for RFID cards or extra steps. The system uses a standard called OCPI, which is approved by the Department of Energy. This lets the Evro and Shell platforms work smoothly together and makes it easier to add more partners in the future.
Evro’s General Manager Paulo Canivel said this move helps improve the overall EV experience in the country. He shared that both Shell and Evro are working to fix the usual problems faced by EV drivers, like too many apps or unclear charging steps. Shell Pilipinas Vice President and General Manager for Mobility and Convenience, Mike Ramolete, also shared the same view. He said the partnership supports their goal of making EV charging easier and more available to more people.
This new update removes many of the usual roadblocks in EV charging. With more stations, simpler steps, and one app that does it all, the shift to using electric vehicles might be more doable for many Filipinos.
