MANILA: Mahindra has partnered with Warner Brothers Discovery Global Consumer Products (WBDGCP) to make the first commercially available Batman-inspired sport utility vehicle (SUV).

For those wondering, it took inspiration from Christopher Nolan’s critically acclaimed The Dark Knight Trilogy.

“The BE 6 has always been about boldness and forward thinking. With the Batman Edition, we wanted to go further — to create something so personal, so visually arresting, that owning it feels like owning a piece of cinematic history. We’ve obsessed over even the smallest detail, so that every time you look at it, you discover something new,” Mahindra & Mahindra Limited Chief Design and Creative Officer for Auto and Farm Sectors Pratap Bose commented.

Exterior, interior

Its unique exterior design elements include a custom satin black paintwork, custom Batman decals, a set of 20-inch alloy wheels, and Alchemy Gold-painted suspension and brake callipers.

Further, it gets “BE 6 × The Dark Knight” limited edition rear badging; the iconic Bat emblem on its hub caps, front quarter panels, rear bumper, windows, and windshield; an infinity roof featuring The Dark Knight Trilogy Bat emblem, Night Trail carpet lamps with The Dark Knight Trilogy Bat emblem logo projection, and a “Batman Edition” signature sticker on rear door cladding. As for its cabin appointments, the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition sports a brushed Alchemy Gold Batman Edition plaque on the dashboard with numbering, a charcoal leather instrument panel with brushed gold halo around the driver’s cockpit, as well as suede and leather upholstery with gold sepia accent stitching with integrated The Dark Knight Trilogy Bat emblem.

In addition, the interior has a gold-accented steering wheel with an in-touch controller, electronic parking brake, and a custom key fob with Alchemy gold detailing; The Dark Knight Trilogy Bat emblem embossed on the “boost” button, seats, and interior labels; some pinstripe graphic and The Dark Knight Trilogy Bat Emblem across the passenger dashboard panel; a race car-inspired open straps with Batman Edition branding Batman Edition welcome animation on the infotainment display; and custom Batman-inspired exterior engine sounds.

Electric powertrain

Propulsion for the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition comes from an electric motor that sends power to the rear wheel axle. It is paired with a 79-kilowatt-hour battery and is able to generate the following numbers:

In terms of range, the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition can drive up to 683 kilometers in a single charge.

Limited to only 300 samples, reservations for the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition will start on August 23. Deliveries are expected to commence on September 20.
