Rumors that the Kona will be reintroduced during this HME intensify as a news release states that “Hyundai will be reintroducing an iconic nameplate, marking the return of one of the brand’s subcompact SUVs.” If the Kona is to return, it is said to feature either a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated MPi petrol engine that pushes 147 hp and 179 Nm of torque or a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine that bumps the power up to 118 hp and 200 Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed DCT. Additionally, it is also expected to offer a third, 1.6-liter turbocharged variant as well as a 1.6-liter GDI hybrid variant.
Hyundai Motors Philippines encourages everyone to visit the festivities that they have prepared at the Hyundai Mobility Experience happening from June 20 through 22 at the Bonifacio High Street Amphitheatre as well as the C1 Park, as it celebrates its third year as the official sales subsidiary and distributor of Hyundai passenger cars here in the Philippines.
