BYD Philippines and ACMobility turn over four BYD units to support Ayala Foundation’s disaster response efforts

During the National Disaster Resilience Month, ACMobility, together with BYD Philippines, formally turned over three BYD Shark 6 DMO Pickups and one BYD Sealion 6 DM-i, each equipped with emergency gear, to Ayala Foundation to enhance their disaster response capabilities last July 9, 2025.

Attended by ACMobility’s CEO, Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala; Ayala Foundation President, Tony Lambino; BYD Philippines’ Country Head, Adam Hu; and representatives from community partners in Mindoro, including Aninuan Barangay Captain Manolito Bagos, Iraya Mangyan representative Wilson Pampilo, and Pablito de Jesus, the turnover aimed to enable Ayala Foundation, the social development arm of the Ayala Group of Companies, to navigate freely and respond to urgent situations.

“These vehicles are tools for hope, equipped to support fast mobilization during emergencies and help deliver aid, equipment, and relief where they’re needed most. With advanced electric technology and modern rescue features, they’re built to serve communities in times of greatest need.”

CEO, ACMobility

BYD ACMobility Turn Over

In its commitment to aid in relief and preparedness following the devastation brought by Typhoon Carina last year, ACMobility and BYD Philippines pledged to donate USD 100, or roughly P5,000, for each BYD Sealion 6 DM-i sold from its launch on July 25, 2024, to December 31, 2024. As the beneficiaries of the donation, Ayala Foundation will utilize the vehicles, as well as the proceeds from the donation, in the implementation of its Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) program which involve the procurement of disaster preparedness kits and water filtration systems to be distributed to vulnerable communities across Luzon with the help of other programs led by partner NGOs in various local communities.

BYD Shark 6 DMO

The BYD Shark 6 DMO, powered by its revolutionary Dual Mode Off-road powertrain, is engineered as an optimal platform for flood rescue and relief logistics operations. Featuring an all-wheel drive system, 700 mm wade depth, and 835 kg cargo capacity, it is built to perform in challenging terrain and adverse weather conditions.

Equipped with two electric motors powered by a 29.6 kWh BYD Blade battery and a 1.5-liter turbocharged generator, the BYD Shark 6 is capable of delivering 429 hp and 650 Nm of torque, providing both high output and adaptability depending on operational requirements.

BYD Sealion 6 DM-i

Meanwhile, the BYD Sealion 6’s emergency response capability in remote communities is made possible by its Super DM-i technology that enables it to deliver an electric-only range of up to 105 km and a combined range of 1,100 km.

Both vehicles feature Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, enabling them to become power sources for running appliances and charging critical devices, making them ideal for disaster-affected areas with limited to no power or electricity.

Ayala Disaster Relief Response

In the recent devastation brought by Tropical Storms Crising, Dante, Emong, and the Southwest Monsoon, the Ayala Foundation, in partnership with local government partners, utilized the BYD Shark 6 DMO to deliver over 900 food packs, 500 Go Bags, and 2,500 anti-bacterial medicines prepared by the Ayala Foundation, Ayala Group volunteers, including ACMobility Employees, and partner organizations to flood-affected barangays in Quezon City, Malabon, Navotas, Manila, and Marikina last July 25 and 26, 2025.

BYD V2L

Additionally, BYD La Union took advantage of the Shark 6 and Sealion 6’s V2L feature to allow local residents to charge their mobile phones and gadgets while electricity service was cut in the aftermath of the storm.

These initiatives reflect a shared commitment among ACMobility, BYD Philippines, Ayala Foundation, and its partners to harness innovation and transformative mobility as a force for good, empowering communities and uplifting lives during times of crisis.

ACMobility is part of the Ayala Group of Companies and the country’s first end-to-end mobility provider. The company operates the largest dealer networks of Honda and Isuzu, and is the official distributor of Kia, Volkswagen, and BYD passenger vehicles in the Philippines.

ACMobility’s investment in the development of electric vehicle charging stations creates a sustainable ecosystem as the Philippines transitions to electrified mobility. ACMobility’s charging network rapidly expands nationwide, along with the development of digital platforms that will allow individuals and businesses to easily access charging infrastructure and service centers across the country.
