The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS variants are known as the most hardcore variant of the Carrera range. They possess parts from the higher-end Turbo models, such as the center-lock wheels, brakes, anti-roll bars, and helper springs. However, those wanting a much more bespoke and limited GTS model will be happy to note that PGA has brought in the 992 911 Targa 4 GTS 50 Years Porsche Design Edition.
2022 signifies a significant milestone for Porsche Design, the renowned German product design studio affiliated with the Porsche brand. Established by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the creative mind behind the iconic 911, Porsche Design made its debut in 1972 with the release of the Porsche Design Chronograph 1 wristwatch. As the studio reaches its 50th anniversary, Porsche commemorates this achievement with a special edition vehicle known as the Edition 50 Years Porsche Design, based on the 911 Targa. A year later, the Philippines finally gets its own allocation since its announcement.

Taking the 911 Targa 4 GTS as its foundation, the Edition 50 Years Porsche Design showcases a distinctive black exterior, paying homage to the all-black aesthetic of the original Porsche Design Chronograph 1 timepiece. The vehicle is fitted with striking 20/21-inch 911 Turbo S wheels in a special Satin Platinum finish, complemented by the same color adorning the Targa bar and the Porsche Design logos found on the doors. Gloss black brake calipers and a “50 Years Porsche Design” emblem on the engine grille further accentuate the special edition’s identity.
Stepping inside the vehicle, one will discover Ferdinand Alexander Porsche’s signature displayed prominently on the center console lid, while a silver badge with a unique number denotes the limited production run of this anniversary edition. The 50 Years Porsche Design logo is elegantly embroidered on the headrests of the black and Cool Grey Sport-Tex seats, while the GT Sport steering wheel and seatbelts feature a subtle Slate Grey center marker. The special edition also boasts 18-way adaptive seats and the Sport Chrono package in Porsche Design configuration as standard, enhancing both comfort and performance.

Under the hood, the 911 Targa 4 GTS Edition 50 Years Porsche Design retains its unaltered 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine producing 473 hp and 570 Nm of torque. Porsche plans to manufacture just 750 units of this limited edition model, each accompanied by a matching timepiece called the Chronograph 1–911 50 Years of Porsche Design.
Should you be interested in checking out the 911 Targa 4 GTS Edition 50 Years Porsche Design, the unit will be displayed in Porsche BGC until July 16, 2023. Price is available upon request, and there will only be one unit that is officially allocated locally.
