Hyundai has taken the wraps off its upcoming fifth-generation Santa Fe SUV, showcasing a revolutionary design ahead of its global launch next month. This latest iteration of the midsized SUV maintains its appealing blend of nature and urban aesthetics, while incorporating modifications inspired by contemporary lifestyle trends.

Hyundai Santa Fe

In a departure from the previous model introduced in 2018, Hyundai opted for an unconventional approach centered around lifestyle-based design principles. The primary objective was to optimize the rear cargo capacity and cater to the needs of users engaged in outdoor and urban activities. Consequently, the new Santa Fe boasts a visually striking exterior and a spacious, flexible interior. One notable feature is the enlarged tailgate, which opens up to provide users with a terrace-like area, making it ideal for various recreational purposes.

The distinctively boxy shape and silhouette of the all-new Santa Fe are attributed to its elongated wheelbase and wide tailgate area. The front is characterized by a high hood, H-shaped headlights, and sharp fenders, while the H-shaped headlights blend seamlessly with the H-motif lower front design, ensuring a cohesive front-end appearance.

Viewed from the side, the lengthened wheelbase allows for a squared-off roofline, powerful volume around the fenders, sharply defined wheel arches, a reduced front overhang, and striking 21-inch wheels that further enhance its appeal.

At the rear, the enlarged tailgate creates a more straightforward design, ensuring a well-balanced overall exterior. The H-shaped taillights are carefully integrated with the front H lights to establish a visually harmonious connection.

The increased tailgate size significantly enhances the spaciousness of the interior, providing a unique terrace-like ambiance when open. Furthermore, the second and third-row seats can be fully folded, offering an unparalleled level of interior space.

Contrasting with the exterior, the interior of the all-new Santa Fe emphasizes horizontal and vertical lines, incorporating the H-motif design on the dashboard and air vents. The interior’s refinement is underscored by a range of advanced features, such as the Panoramic Curved Display and dual wireless charging. The innovative curved display unites the 12.3-inch digital cluster with the infotainment system, thereby improving driver visibility and convenience.

Moreover, the interior exudes a sense of spaciousness with its brightly colored seats and headliner, while the soft-touch wood-patterned garnish and Nappa leather seats adorned with delicate embroidery add an element of sophistication. Hyundai has also embraced sustainability by incorporating several eco-friendly materials in the Santa Fe’s interior, such as recycled plastic for the suede headliner, car mats, and second and third-row seatbacks, as well as eco-friendly leatherette for the crash pad and door trim covers.

While more information, including powertrain details, will be unveiled during the global premiere of the all-new Santa Fe in August, Hyundai’s radical design approach and emphasis on lifestyle-driven elements make it an eagerly anticipated addition to the SUV market.

We also think that it belongs in Philippine roads as well, so Hyundai Philippines, please bring this in.
