Nissan has made an exciting announcement about the launch of the much-anticipated NISMO, and the time has finally arrived for car enthusiasts to behold the new Skyline NISMO. Speculations and rumors about a potential hybrid model have been put to rest as Nissan unveils the awe-inspiring Skyline NISMO, available in a limited production run of only 1,000 units, exclusively for the Japanese market.
As expected from a NISMO-tuned machine, Nissan has not only enhanced the car’s aesthetics but also introduced several performance upgrades. The suspension has been meticulously fine-tuned to reduce roll, ensuring a smoother and more controlled ride. Though specific details about the changes remain undisclosed by Nissan, it is evident that the focus is on optimizing the driving experience. The new Skyline NISMO sits on exclusive 19-inch Enkei wheels, which are lighter, wider, and stronger than those found on other Skylines. This allows for slightly wider tires at the rear, and stopping power has been bolstered with upgraded brake pads and a retuned ABS system, resulting in reduced stopping distances.
For those who crave more horsepower, Nissan does not disappoint. The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, similar to the one seen in the Nissan Z NISMO, now produces an impressive 420 hp in the SAE unit. Torque has also been boosted to 550 Nm. To fully exploit these performance improvements, the Skyline NISMO comes with sport and sport+ driving modes, optimizing engine and suspension settings. Additionally, the performance modes alter the shifting behavior of the seven-speed automatic transmission, enhancing the overall driving experience.
Turning our attention to aesthetics, the Skyline NISMO shares some design elements with its sibling, the Nissan Z NISMO. The car features a tasteful body kit, including Nismo-specific front and rear fascias, side sills, and upgraded driving lamps. The exterior is accentuated with striking NISMO branding and red trim alongside black accents. The interior design exudes a sporty and premium feel, drawing inspiration from the 400R model. NISMO branding can be found on the Recaro seats, center console, and instrument cluster, adding a touch of exclusivity to the driving experience.
