If you’re taking a trip to the CAMANAVA area this coming Saturday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has put out a traffic advisory that you should take notice of. In the advisory, the MMDA has disclosed the routes for the upcoming 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival Parade of Stars. The parade will commence at Navotas Centennial Park, progressing through C4 Road, Samson Road, and McArthur Highway, concluding at Valenzuela People’s Park. Spanning a distance of 8.7 km, the floats of the ten official entries in the 49th MMFF are expected to traverse this route for approximately three hours.

Anticipating heavy traffic on the parade route because of spectators, the MMDA is cautioning motorists to steer clear of the parade route on Saturday. The advisory notes the anticipation of a substantial turnout, with thousands of spectators expected to be in attendance.
Consequently, the MMDA will execute temporary lane closures and introduce a counterflow scheme in the specified areas from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM:
- C-4 Road (stretching from Navotas Centennial Park to A. Mabini St.)
- Samson Road (spanning from A. Mabini St. to Monumento Circle)
- McArthur Highway (extending from Monumento Circle to C. Santos Street)

To aid motorists in avoiding the parade route, the MMDA recommends that motorists without official or urgent matters steer clear of the affected routes and consider these alternative paths:
- For motorists traveling from Malabon to Navotas, consider taking Gov. Pascual and M. H. Del Pilar Street.
- For those heading to Monumento, an alternative route includes Gov. I Santiago Road, M. H. Del Pilar Street, and Samson Road.
- Consider using the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) for both northbound and southbound travel.
The MMFF Parade of Stars unfolds on Saturday, December 16, 2023. The MMDA will also be deploying 1,000 personnel to assist in traffic management, crowd control, and ensuring the safety of spectators. Don’t get stuck in traffic, plan ahead, folks.
