Nissan is quietly marking an important milestone this year—its 90th anniversary. Throughout its history, Nissan has been recognized as one of the well-known players in the global car market for its innovation and reliability.

Since its founding on December 26, 1933, the automaker has kept the celebration low-key, especially in the Philippines. However, in its home market of Japan, Nissan has rolled out a series of special commemorative vehicles displayed at the Japan Mobility Show.
The lineup of these special edition models includes the Sakura, LEAF, Note, Note Aura, Serena, X-Trail, and Kicks, which are set to be released in stages starting December 19 in Japan. Two of the brand’s most iconic models, the Nissan Z and GT-R, are not included in this anniversary edition list.
Each vehicle will have copper exterior accents, which complement black side mirror caps and exclusive alloy wheels. The interiors include floor mats decorated with the 90th Anniversary emblem. Additional optional accessories are also available, such as a hood decal, door visors, and a license plate frame featuring the anniversary emblem.

In terms of interior modification, models such as the LEAF will have a combination of suede and leatherette lining, providing a leather-like appearance and texture while having better durability and resistance to water. Other models will have copper stitching on their synthetic leather or fabric seats.
With the introduction of these unique edition models, Nissan continues to celebrate its history while looking forward to future innovations. Currently, these 90th-anniversary editions are exclusive to Japan, making their availability in the Philippines uncertain. It would be remarkable if any of these special anniversary models arrived in the Filipino market. Should such an event occur, it is presumed to happen around 2024. These special editions from Nissan bring a combination of style and commemoration, marking the brand’s longstanding history in the automotive industry.
