The wait for Jeep’s inaugural electric model is finally ending. The company has officially declared through a teaser campaign that this groundbreaking vehicle is set to hit the U.S. market later this year.
Unveiled as a concept back in 2022, the Wagoneer S concept looked like a sleek performance-oriented SUV. Think of it like a stealthy, electric version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Jeep dropped the first pic of the upcoming Wagoneer S last January 18th. But don’t be fooled, it’s so close to the concept that you might do a double-take at first glance. The front end is wide and imposing with the Wagoneer S featuring lights inside the trademark Jeep seven-slot grille. The lights are sleek and sharp with a light bar wrapping the front end of the vehicle making it more distinct from the gas-powered Wagoneer.

As for performance, the Wagoneer S comes with all-wheel drive as standard, delivering an impressive 600 hp and a jaw-dropping zero to 100 km/h acceleration time of just 3.5 seconds, according to Jeep. As for other details though, Jeep has been a bit tight-lipped about the more technical details and hasn’t confirmed whether the upcoming model will be built on the Stellantis STLA architecture. What they have confirmed for the public though is that the new Jeep Wagoneer will have a target driving range of 644 km on a single charge.

Like all other vehicles in Jeep’s stable, the Wagoneer S will sport 4×4 capabilities and a sophisticated terrain management system. This means that when it comes time to do some off-roading, the Wagoneer S will be able to handle most of what mother nature throws at it.
According to Stellantis, after the Jeep Wagoneer S makes its debut in the U.S., the electric SUV will slowly make its way to other “key markets around the world.” Whether this includes the Philippines we’re not really sure, but, we kind of hope it does.
