Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda has presented and revealed a new vision for the Toyota Group, emphasizing innovation, sustainability, and a deep connection to the company’s origins. In his speech, Toyoda talked about Toyota’s history, from its post-war growth to automobile manufacturing to its current status, consistently pointing out the importance of returning to the company’s roots, especially in times of crisis. According to Toyoda, doing so has helped Toyota overcome many challenges in the past.

Toyoda recounted the history of the Toyota Group, beginning with Sakichi Toyoda’s invention of the wooden handloom and extending to the establishment of Toyoda Boshoku and Toyoda Automatic Loom Works. Knowing the mentioned lineage, according to Toyoda, would help understand the company’s original spirit of making cars that improve people’s lives. In recent years, the company has focused too much on making money rather than cars, so during his speech, Toyoda also shared his concern about losing sight of what made Toyota successful in the first place.

He clearly wants to change this, so he plans to bring in new technology and work with other companies to make better cars.

As a big name in the local car market, Toyoda’s futuristic plans for Toyota may raise questions among Filipinos about the possible implications of these in the country. For one, Toyoda’s vision of innovation could lead to more advanced, eco-friendly vehicles being available in the Philippines. So, yes, possibly more cars that are better in technology and for the environment are on their way to the Philippine road!

Toyoda’s new direction for Toyota could make the brand more trustworthy, not only among Filipinos but also among Toyota users across the globe. As Toyoda continues to take Toyota’s wheel, it may be time for you to get behind the wheel of the Toyota car you’ve been eyeing! You can start by getting a quote as soon as you can.
