Now that the EV6 has reached three years in the market, Kia is set to unveil an update for its very first battery-electric compact crossover. Through a teaser image dubbed “The New EV6,” Kia teased the updated model’s silhouette and redesigned front and rear lamps.
Put side-by-side with the current EV6, the facelifted version will get new daytime running lights (DRL) featuring Star-map Signature Lighting, elevating its aesthetic with a dynamic and futuristic touch. In addition, the facelift will also introduce a funky new design for the EV6’s wing mirrors, featuring sharp cuts along the edges.

Built upon Hyundai Motor Group’s electric vehicle-specific platform E-GMP, the EV6 has garnered widespread praise for its design and electrification capabilities. Speaking on the E-GMP, while technical specifications are slated for release later this month, it is anticipated that the refreshed EV6 will incorporate a larger 84 kWh battery, an upgrade from the previous 77.4 kWh. If you may remember, this 84 kWh battery pack is also the same one introduced to the IONIQ 5 facelift that Hyundai unveiled back in March.
With this enhancement, an improvement in driving range is expected across the EV6 lineup. Presently, the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) Air model boasts 528 km, the RWD GT-Line claims 504 km, the all-wheel-drive (AWD) GT-Line offers 484 km, and the GT AWD delivers 424 km of driving range.
As for tech features, a likely candidate to be included in the update list is Hyundai and Kia’s newest ‘ccNC’ infotainment software. It will likely come equipped with dual 12.3-inch screens, and there’s a possibility of an extra 5.0-inch panel dedicated to air-conditioning controls, much like the one equipped in the EV6’s bigger brother, the EV9.
