It took a long time to get here, but, Mitsubishi Philippines is back in the subcompact crossover segment and they’re not messing around, folks, meet the all-new XForce.
Filling the shoes of the ASX, the XForce is a new nameplate that was first previewed as the XFC concept back in 2022. After launching in Indonesia in 2023, the XForce eventually made its way into the Philippines this July.

Since we already know what the XForce is going up against, let’s see what will set it apart from its rivals. The XForce is available in two variants: the GLS and the top-of-the-line GT. Both models are powered by the 4A91 engine, sourced from the Xpander, delivering 103 hp and 141 Nm of torque. As for the transmission, the XForce doesn’t use the four-speed gearbox in the Xpander, instead, it is equipped with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
In addition, Mitsubishi equipped the XForce with selectable drive modes—Normal, Wet, Gravel, and Mud—enabling it to navigate uneven terrain effortlessly even without all-wheel drive. Furthermore, it comes with Mitsubishi’s Active Yaw Control (AYC), enhancing safety and giving drivers more confidence in the vehicle. Standard exterior features include LED headlights, electric adjust and power-folding mirrors with repeaters, and the stylish 18-inch two-tone alloys.

As for the transmission, the XForce doesn’t use the four-speed gearbox in the Xpander, instead, it is equipped with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

As for the interior, the XForce boasts a sleek and rather futuristic cabin. All variants are equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with Bluetooth and USB connectivity. Like its ASEAN counterparts, the PH-spec XForce includes an eight-speaker sound system developed by Yamaha.
Additional amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, 40:20:40 split-rear seats, an eight-inch digital instrument panel, rear air conditioning vents, an electronic parking brake, ISOFIX rear anchors for child seats, ambient lighting, and multiple Type A and Type C USB charging ports.
Going for the GT variant comes with exclusive features like a wireless mobile phone charger, two-tone synthetic leather seats, rain-sensing wipers, adaptive cruise control, and rear parking sensors.
In terms of safety features, the top-spec GT includes forward-collision warning with autonomous emergency braking, lead-car departure notification, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and auto high beam. While a reversing camera is standard on the XForce, rear proximity sensors are exclusive to the GT. Standard features for the XForce include two front passenger airbags, two side airbags, a reversing camera, active stability and traction control, active yaw control, and hill-start assist.
With all that said, prices for the XForce start at P1,367,000 for the GLS CVT while the GT CVT comes in at P1,581,000. With a fresh new face and brimming with features even in its GLS variant, the XForce could be a mighty contender in the subcompact crossover segment.
