Back when it was unveiled as a concept car in 2022, the Hyundai N Vision 74 Concept impressed everyone, from automotive journalists to hardcore petrol power purists. When you’re looking at the exterior, it’s easy to see why people were so enamored with the concept car, it’s sleek and simple, and it has a futuristic hydrogen fuel cell drivetrain.

Of course, with a concept car as impressive as the N Vision 74, the first question on everyone’s minds at the time was if it would be a future Hyundai production car. Well back then, the answer to that question would take two years to determine.
Fast-forward to 2024, Hyundai has officially confirmed that its popular N Vision 74 concept will go into production, as part of its plan to launch 21 new models by 2030. The announcement was subtly included in a slide during the company’s annual CEO and Investor Day presentation, listing the N Vision 74 among its upcoming “high-performance EVs.”

To that end, details about the powertrain and performance specs for the production model remain unknown, leaving it unclear whether Hyundai will retain the concept’s 670 hp hydrogen fuel cell system or switch to a fully electric drivetrain. However, a lot can change over five years—so nothing is set in stone, at least not yet.
Hopefully, by the time 2030 rolls around, storing hydrogen and mass adoption of hydrogen refueling stations will be sorted out. If not, heck, the N Vision 74 will still make for a jaw-dropping electric supercar.
Aside from confirming that the car will be released before 2030, Hyundai did not mention a concrete production timeline for the N Vision 74. However, a report from The Korean Car Blog indicates that production could begin in 2026, with research and development already in progress at Hyundai’s Namyang development center. Fingers crossed, this means we could see reports and sneak peeks of rolling prototypes.
2030 is still far away but if you want a taste of Hyundai’s performance vehicles, the IONIQ 5 N and the Elantra N are available here in the country right now. Check them out along with the rest of Hyundai’s vehicle lineup on the Hyundai Car Guide on AutoDeal.com.ph.
