Ford Motor Company has announced the appointment of Pedro Simoes as Managing Director of Ford Group Philippines, effective December 1. Currently, Simoes is serving as the Marketing, Commercial Vehicle, and Fleet Director for Ford Middle East, Simoes will succeed Michael “Mike” Breen, who is returning to the US.

Ford’s press release says that Simoes will relocate to Manila and report directly to Yukontorn ‘Vickie’ Wisadkosin, President of Ford ASEAN and Asia Pacific Distributor Markets. Furthermore, it states that in his new role, Simoes will be responsible for driving Ford’s continued growth in the Philippines, while maintaining the brand’s strong momentum. He will also focus on enhancing the ownership and aftersales experience and strengthening relationships with dealer partners to serve Ford customers better.
“With proven track record of success in driving brand growth, market expansion, and collaborative leadership style, I am confident that Pedro will be able to lead the team and work together with our dealer partners to further strengthen our presence in the Philippines.”

Pedro joined the Ford Middle East team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2016 and brings a wealth of experience in leading and expanding businesses. Most recently, he served as Marketing, Commercial Vehicle, and Fleet Director for the Middle East, where in 2021, he established a new department, team, and processes for the region. Before that, he was Retail Marketing and Revenue Management Director, working with markets in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific to achieve a 40 percent volume increase and deliver incremental net profit in his first year. Throughout his career, Pedro has held key leadership roles in marketing, branding, products, and sales across various automotive brands, gaining deep industry expertise.
Alongside his accomplishments, Pedro earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BESc) and a Master of Science (MS) in Materials Science Engineering from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal, in 2007. He further enhanced his expertise by completing an Executive Advanced Marketing Program at Universidade Católica Portuguesa in 2012.
