This year’s honors include a ‘Gold’ for the IONIQ 5 N, a ‘Bronze’ for the SANTA FE, along with the ‘Curator’s Choice Award’ and another ‘Gold’ for the Hyundai Heritage: Retrace Collection Book ‘PONY’.
The Hyundai Heritage: Retrace Collection Book ‘PONY’ earned the prestigious Curator’s Choice Award, an honor bestowed on only one project annually, regardless of category. As part of Hyundai Motor’s Heritage Project, the book chronicles the company’s journey, highlighting how a commitment to humanity has driven its success. Meanwhile, The all-new Santa Fe, awarded the Bronze Award, showcases Hyundai’s ‘Open for More’ design philosophy. This fifth-generation SUV offers a spacious, terrace-like interior with an extended wheelbase and wide tailgate, perfect for outdoor adventures. Its bold exterior features a distinctive silhouette and striking front design, while the interior highlights flexible seating, advanced technology, sustainable materials, and colors inspired by natural light to elevate every journey.
In addition to these honors, IDEA 2024 also recognized three other Hyundai entries in the Automotive & Transportation category: the Santa Fe XRT Concept, SPACE (Spatial Curated Experience), and Hyundai Motor Group’s Global EV Home Charger.
The SANTA FE XRT Concept, unveiled alongside the all-new SANTA FE in 2023, captures the spirit of adventure with its rugged design and ability to tackle tough terrain. This SUV is built for practicality, featuring substantial off-road wheels and tires, a durable roof-mounted luggage rack, and ample external storage. Designed for versatility, the SANTA FE XRT Concept is the perfect companion for outdoor adventures.
Debuted at CES 2024, SPACE is a multi-seater public mobility solution designed for accessible travel, including for people with mobility challenges. Its flexible interior features an Adaptive Seat, while adjustable boarding height control ensures easy access for wheelchair users, making it ideal for last-mile mobility. The SPACE Pavilion extension repurposes retired SPACE modules into a transportable hub for disadvantaged areas. Powered by a hydrogen fuel cell, it provides portable battery charging and emits only pure water, which is used for crop cultivation in the integrated smart farm and supports the Pavilion’s air-purifying algae module. It’s exactly how you’d imagine a future mobile hub would look.
The Hyundai Motor Group Global EV Home Charger is a compact and versatile charging solution for Hyundai EVs, delivering a power range of 7 to 22 kW. Its space-saving vertical design includes a built-in cable holder for easy organization and integrates seamlessly with an app-based home energy management system. Offered in Basic, Connect, and Premium models, it is designed to meet a variety of user needs and preferences.
In addition to the main awards, Hyundai Motor received further recognition: the Hyundai Heritage PONY Project claimed Gold in the Branding category, the Sustainable Paper Package Series earned Bronze in the Packaging category, and the Hyundai Multi Lantern was selected as a finalist in the Outdoor & Garden category.
