H2109004 Mister na Lulong sa Sugal, Tinabla Pati Asawa! part2

MG has introduced the Windsor EV in India, but it’s not an entirely new model. The Windsor EV is actually a rebadged version of the Baojun Cloud from China, also sold as the Wuling Cloud in Indonesia, with MG giving it a few design tweaks and a badge change.

What makes the MG Windsor EV interesting is its starting price of $11,895 (around Php 675,000), but that price doesn’t include the battery. Instead of buying the battery outright, buyers will need to pay $0.04 per kilometer driven for the battery through MG’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program. So, if you are someone driving 10,000 kilometers a year, that would come to about $420 (around Php 24,000). The BaaS program includes a lifetime battery warranty and free charging for the first year.

The MG Windsor EV comes with a 38 kWh battery that provides a range of up to 331 kilometers (206 miles). It supports fast charging, going from 0 to 80 percent in 55 minutes with a maximum charge rate of 45 kW. Power comes from a 134-horsepower electric motor with 200 Nm of torque, giving it quite a good performance for everyday driving.

In terms of design, the Windsor looks a lot like the Baojun Cloud, with some black trim added around the bumper, headlights, and doors. It also has roof rails to give it a more crossover look, although it still has the shape of a small van. It’s available in four colors—Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green—and offers 17- or 18-inch wheels.

Inside, the Windsor features a large 15.6-inch infotainment screen, with a smaller 10.1-inch screen on the base model. It also has an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. The Indian version of the car includes physical controls for the air conditioning, making it more user-friendly. The top trim comes with premium features like ventilated front seats, a panoramic roof, wireless charging, and a 360-degree camera. Safety features include six airbags, an emergency stop signal, and a hill-start assist.

Starting October 3, MG will be taking orders for the Windsor EV in India, with deliveries starting on October 12. Although this model is made for India, it could be exciting to see if MG will bring this cost-friendly EV to the Philippines.
