Emergency preparedness is an important part of keeping communities safe. Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), through Isuzu Cebu, handed over 22 brand-new Isuzu Traviz L utility vans to Talisay City, Cebu. The official turnover was part of Mayor Gerald Anthony Gullas Jr.’s State of the City Address (SOCA). These vehicles will help strengthen public safety and disaster preparedness across all barangays.

The event was attended by Vice Mayor Richard Choy Fernandez Aznar, barangay captains and their councils, city department heads, representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), and members of the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO). Different non-government organizations and civil society groups were also present to witness the blessing of the vehicles and their formal handover to the barangays.

Each barangay received one Traviz van, assigned to improve their rapid response under the city’s Aksyon Agad Rescue Program. The program enables Community First Responders (CFRs) to act as the first point of contact during emergencies. These responders coordinate directly with the City Disaster Team, making sure there is quick and efficient assistance in medical emergencies, accidents, and natural disasters.

The Isuzu Traviz L, equipped with a fuel-efficient 4JA1 engine, is known for its durability and functionality. It has a gross payload capacity of 1,660 kilograms, providing enough space for emergency equipment and personnel. Robert Carlos, IPC Assistant Division Head for Sales, mentioned that the Traviz is a popular choice among LGUs for its high payload, dependable engine, and excellent aftersales support. He expressed IPC’s pride in contributing to Talisay City’s efforts to enhance emergency services and public safety.

With these vans, barangays can respond faster to emergencies, reducing response times and helping communities in need. The 22 Traviz vans are expected to make a big difference in Talisay City’s rescue operations, providing the tools needed for better disaster preparedness and public safety. Isuzu Philippines continues to provide dependable vehicles for LGUs across the country.  If you’re in the market for an Isuzu truck, visit AutoDeal.com.ph.
