If you’re driving an electric car, you know how important easy access to charging is. ACMobility has opened an EV charging hub at U.P. Town Center in Quezon City, making it easier for EV owners to charge their cars. The new EV charging hub at U.P. Town Center is along Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City.

The location was chosen because it’s close to major universities like the University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, and Miriam College. With many students, faculty, and commuters passing through the area daily, the hub provides a convenient charging option for electric vehicle owners in this part of Metro Manila.

The hub has six charging slots. It includes one 120 kW DC fast charger and four AC chargers with capacities of 22 kW and 7 kW. These chargers work for private cars and public utility vehicles like e-jeepneys and electric shuttles. The project is part of ACMobility’s partnerships with various groups, including Meralco, the Quezon City government, and the University of the Philippines, where these collaborations are important to building more charging hubs across the Philippines.

The U.P. Town Center hub is the first under ACMobility’s partnership with Meralco, which plans to expand EV charging to other locations nationwide. The charging station features a mural created by Professor Toym Imao and students from U.P.’s College of Fine Arts. The artwork celebrates progress and innovation while reflecting Katipunan Avenue’s local culture and history.

ACMobility plans to set up over 200 charging points at about 100 locations across the Philippines by the end of 2024. These charging hubs will make it easier for EV owners to find reliable places to charge their vehicles, in Metro Manila or other regions. Quezon City’s eco-friendly efforts have made it a great place for ACMobility to start its EV expansion. The project seeks to make electric cars easier to own and encourage greener choices among Filipinos.
