Just recently, Chevrolet competed in the Mint 400, Nevada’s version of the Baja 1000, as such, they built a fully race-spec version of the all-electric Silverado EV. Named the Silverado ZR2, this hot version of the Silverado comes with three electric motors making for impressive performance figures.
The standard Silverado EV comes with a dual-electric motor setup boasting 750 hp and 1,050 Nm of torque. The addition of one more motor gives the ZR2 a total output of 1,085 hp and apparently, according to Chevrolet, 15,591 Nm of torque – enough pulling power to kickstart a dying star.

The Silverado EV ZR2 was developed in just five months and is built using approximately 98 percent GM production parts. Compared to a standard Silverado EV, the ZR2 boasts reinforced front and rear suspension components, specially tuned for off-road performance. It also sits significantly higher, thanks in part to a substantial lift and 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 mud-terrain tires.
Another key upgrade to the Silverado EV ZR2 is its advanced Multimatic semi-active spool-valve dampers. Chevy refers to these as prototype units, designed to provide over 13 inches of wheel travel at both the front and rear. The ZR2 race truck also comes equipped with locking differentials and underbody skid plates to safeguard critical components.
If you’re wondering how the Silverado EV ZR2’s racing debut went, it competed in the Limited class, tackling a demanding 117 km lap of the Mint course. The all-electric Chevy completed the lap in 2 hours and 32 minutes, finishing with an impressive 40 percent of its battery remaining.

The closest thing people will get to a production version of the ZR2 Concept truck is the Silverado EV Trail Boss. The Trail Boss features a factory-installed lift, 18-inch wheels wrapped in 35-inch all-terrain tires, red tow hooks, and a dedicated Terrain mode.
