H1509002 Varsity Player, Hindi Suportado ng Ama! part2

With MG already more popular locally, SAIC’s plans could speed things up. In the next three years, SAIC plans to release 17 all-new models for overseas markets. These include SUVs, sedans, MPVs, and pickup trucks. Some of these will have next-generation hybrid systems, while others may come with new battery tech like solid-state batteries.

SAIC isn’t new to selling cars abroad. It was one of the first Chinese brands to go global and has now shipped over 5.5 million vehicles overseas. It’s been China’s top car exporter for eight years straight, with over 1 million cars sold outside China each year. A big part of that now includes Europe, where 1 in 4 of its overseas sales come from. The company has also built a full setup worldwide. This includes parts factories, sales offices, dealerships, logistics, car financing, and even pre-owned services. They have over 3,000 international dealerships, and research centers in London, Silicon Valley, and Tel Aviv, plus factories in Thailand, Indonesia, India, and Pakistan.

SAIC Motor shares global plans on new models, better local support, and stronger presence in the Philippines.

But now, SAIC says it wants to go beyond just selling more cars. Instead, it wants to build stronger local support in every country, starting with the right features, services, and apps for each region. In short, they want to make sure that each car they bring fits the needs of the drivers who’ll actually use them. For example, cars in each country will get their own entertainment systems, tech setups, and even driver assist features that follow local laws. This will also include L2-level assisted driving functions like lane keeping and adaptive cruise control, depending on what’s allowed.

In Southeast Asia, and especially in the Philippines, SAIC will be helping build local jobs, growing dealership networks, and offering better after-sales support. In the future, they are also looking into local assembly, which can help make their vehicles even more accessible in the region. In the Philippines, MG Philippines, supported by SAIC, is already working to bring more trusted branches closer to Filipino families. They also want to improve the whole ownership experience, with better service, parts availability, and support. Their approach is rooted in malasakit, something very close to Filipino values: giving real care, not just selling a product.

As for the brand itself, MG has been changing too. Since SAIC took over in the mid-2000s, MG has grown into a global name. They’ve now sold over 5 million MG cars worldwide, and the brand is ranked in the Top 10 in more than 20 countries. After marking its 100th year in 2024, MG Philippines launched a new campaign: “Made Global. Made Great.” to show their commitment to building world-class cars for Filipinos.

With more models on the way, better tech, and a stronger local setup, SAIC and MG are on their way to becoming a bigger part of daily life for Filipino drivers for the years ahead. Check out MG’s local lineup at AutoDeal.com.ph.
