H1409008 Breakfast Tadhana TBON MANILA part2

Suzuki might be saving the official launch for the Ber months, but they’re giving us an early look this June. The Suzuki Fronx is finally making its way to the Philippines, well, almost. It will be previewed at the Matsuri Village display on June 14, which will be held at SM Mall of Asia as part of Suzuki Philippines’ 50th anniversary celebration. This marks the model’s first official appearance in the country.

The Fronx has already been introduced in Thailand and Indonesia, and now it’s the Philippines’ turn. It’s a small crossover that might appeal to those who were waiting for a new Vitara or a city-ready version of the Jimny. Size-wise, the Fronx is under 4,000mm long, making it a close match to the Toyota Raize and Kia Sonet. Unlike those models, though, the Fronx is expected to be sourced from India, where many Suzuki models sold in the country are also built.

When it comes to what powers the car, there are two possible options. One is the 1.5-liter K15B engine, the same one used in the Jimny and other local Suzuki models. The other could be a 1.2-liter mild hybrid, like the one in the newly launched Dzire Hybrid. If Suzuki follows the same setup as the Dzire Hybrid, the Fronx might use a CVT instead of the AGS or four-speed automatic found in other Suzuki cars. As for features, the Fronx is expected to come with a mix of safety and driver-assist tech, including six airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability program (ESP), and hill hold control.

Other helpful features include high beam assist, rear parking sensors, pedestrian protection, and dual sensor brake support II. It may also offer more advanced functions like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure prevention, vehicle swaying warning, blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert, and even a 360-degree camera for easier parking.

Although this is just a preview, Suzuki hasn’t confirmed the exact launch date yet. But since it’s already being shown in June, the Fronx could hit showrooms sometime in the -ber months, just in time for the usual rush of car launches near the end of the year.
