Manual transmission cars are almost impossible to find on most premium sports cars nowadays, but luckily, some brands still carry a burning torch. One of those few brands is Nissan, and though they’ve recently killed off the GT-R, they’re still eager to show fans they care about them.

Yes, if you haven’t already heard, the Nissan GT-R has been officially discontinued, leaving the Z as the sole sports car offering from Nissan. To fill in the gap between the next big thing Nissan will build, they’ve announced that the Z Nismo, the hottest Z they offer, is getting a six-speed manual transmission.

Although the standard Z is already sold with a six-speed manual option, the Z NISMO represents a major step up. The Nissan Z NISMO is powered by the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 found in other Z models but receives a bump of 20 hp and 46 Nm of torque, for a total output of 420 hp and 521 Nm. It also comes equipped with a standard limited-slip differential, a stiffer suspension, upgraded brakes, and redesigned bodywork featuring a more aggressive appearance, enhanced aerodynamics with signature red accents.

All of that is still to come, and with Nissan yet to make an official announcement, it may take some time before the manual Z NISMO becomes a reality. In the meantime, enthusiasts in the Philippines can already get behind the wheel of the automatic Z NISMO or the standard flavor Z.
