Omoda refreshes 5 and E5 sooner than expected

Most brands wait years to change their cars, but Omoda just couldn’t sit still. In under 12 months, the 5 and E5 got bigger screens, more comfort, and better performance.

Omoda updates the 5 and E5 with more tech, cabin upgrades, and suspension changes just months after launch.

Car brands don’t normally update models this early, but Omoda is breaking the trend. The brand has taken an unusual step in the car industry by updating two of its newest models in under a year. The Omoda 5 and E5, which launched less than twelve months ago, are getting changes to the cabin, tech, and mechanical setup, along with a boost in driving range for the electric version.

Inside the petrol-powered Omoda 5, the new setup now includes dual 12.25-inch curved screens that face the driver, a fresh steering wheel design, and a relocated gear selector placed on a stalk behind the wheel. The wireless charging pad is now closer to the driver, and all models come with six-way seat adjustment as standard. The Noble trim adds roof rails and 19-inch alloy wheels, while higher-quality materials have been used throughout the cabin.

Boot space has also been increased by removing the full-size spare wheel, now offering 430 liters with the seats up and 697 liters with them folded. The same 1.6-liter engine remains, now making 145 hp with lower emissions. Suspension geometry has been revised, the electric steering tuned, and new hubs, bearings, and brake linings have been added for a smoother drive.

The electric Omoda E5 now has a 61 kWh CATL battery, giving it an estimated 267-mile WLTP range. Charging speeds are faster too, with DC rates at 130 kW and AC rates at 10.3 kW, plus integrated charging at 80 kW and 9.9 kW. A heat pump is standard on the Noble trim to improve cold-weather efficiency, and the passenger seat now has adjustment options for extra comfort.

In the UK, prices start at £23,990 GBP, which is approximately P1.83M, for the Omoda 5 Knight and around P2.10M for the Noble. The Omoda E5 starts at £33,065 GBP, which is about P2.52M for the Knight and around P2.63M for the Noble. There are still no announcements on when these revamped Omoda cars will reach our shores, but in the meantime, feel free to browse the current lineup at AutoDeal.com.ph without leaving your home.
