H0210003 KASAMBAHAY NINAKÄWAN ANG MABAIT NA AMO part2

Toyota Indonesia officially launched the AC200 series Yaris Cross just last week, the SUV crossover counterpart of the Yaris hatchback which made its initial debut in May. In addition to its first stop, Toyota says it is also targeting to export 22,000 units of the new crossover to other markets in Asia and South America.

However, all of that is to come so we’ll shift our focus first on the ASEAN-spec Yaris Cross that is now sold in Indonesia. In Indonesia, the Yaris Cross is available in three different versions, with two of them equipped with a traditional internal combustion engine and one featuring a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain. The Yaris Cross G has a price tag of 351 million rupiah (P 1.315 million), followed by the Yaris Cross S priced at 407.7 million rupiah (P 1.527 million). At the top end, there’s the Yaris Cross S HV, which is priced at 440.6 million rupiah (P 1.650 million).

This DOHC Dual VVT-i engine is mated to a CVT automatic transmission, which transfers power to the front wheels. Additionally, the G variant offers the option of a five-speed manual transmission for added versatility.

In contrast, the S HV variant is the sole hybrid option in the Yaris Cross lineup. It incorporates an Atkinson cycle 2NR-VEX 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine, delivering 90 hp and 121 Nm of torque. This configuration is available exclusively with an automatic transmission and includes an electric traction motor powered by a lithium-ion battery. The electric motor generates 79 hp and 141 Nm of torque. The hybrid variant has a fuel tank capacity of 36 liters, slightly smaller than the conventional internal combustion engine options, which can carry 42 liters of fuel.

When it comes to size, the Yaris Cross measures 4,310 mm long, 1,770 mm wide, and 1,615 mm tall. The Yaris Cross has an impressive 210 mm of ground clearance along with a 2,620 mm wheelbase.

All trim levels of the Yaris Cross are equipped with electric power steering, offering tilt and telescopic adjustment to the steering column, as well as disc brakes on all four wheels. Across the board, standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, front fog lights, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, a nine-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay, fabric seats, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold. The higher trim levels benefit from 18-inch alloy wheels, a hands-free power tailgate, leather upholstery, climate control, and a larger 10.1-inch infotainment screen. The hybrid variant stands out with exclusive additions like a panoramic sunroof, wireless device charging, and ambient lighting.

Safety features consist of six airbags, blind spot monitoring, hill start assist, vehicle stability control, ABS, EBD, brake assist, front and rear parking sensors, and rear cross-traffic alert. Higher variants get the Toyota Safety Sense suite of safety features which includes systems like Pre-Collision Warning and Braking, Lane Departure Warning and Prevention, Lane Keeping Control, Adaptive Cruise Control, Front Departure Alert, and Automatic High Beam.

For now, Toyota Motor Philippines has not made mention of the Yaris Cross launching in the Philippines so keep your eyes peeled for more developments on that.
