Subaru unveiled the latest version of its crossover vehicle, formerly known as the XV but now called the Crosstrek globally, marking the third generation of this model. The refreshed crossover boasts a more stylish appearance, an updated platform aimed at reducing Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH), and a more luxurious and technologically advanced interior.
Initially, the 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) was expected to feature the all-new Crosstrek last April. Regrettably, Subaru was unable to bring the crossover to the event on time and instead chose to showcase the refreshed Evoltis. However, this setback does not mean that Motor Image Pilipinas (MIP), the official Subaru distributor in the Philippines, has no plans to introduce the Crosstrek this year.
Recently, MIP released a teaser image of the upcoming 2024 Subaru Crosstrek, offering a sense of confirmation that the Crosstrek is indeed coming to the Philippine market. At this stage, no official information has been disclosed about the all-new Crosstrek. Nevertheless, it is anticipated that the 2024 model will share similar specifications with the versions launched in neighboring ASEAN countries.

Regrettably, Subaru was unable to bring the crossover to the event on time and instead chose to showcase the refreshed Evoltis. As for the powertrain, it is likely that the Crosstrek will be available in a single variant equipped with a 2.0-liter Boxer engine capable of generating 156 hp and 196 Nm of torque. This engine will be mated to a Subaru Lineartronic continuously variable transmission (CVT) that transfers power to all four wheels through the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system.
Inside the cabin, it is expected that the crossover will feature an 11.6-inch touchscreen display as with other Subaru models, and will come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Other anticipated interior features include premium leather upholstery, a range of USB-C and USB-A charging ports, and power-adjustable front seats.
The upgraded Subaru EyeSight 4.0 driver-assistance system is also expected to be incorporated in the 2024 Crosstrek. With a monocular camera utilizing a stereoscopic setup, the system offers an expanded field of view to detect potential hazards and can automatically steer or halt the vehicle to prevent or mitigate accidents.
With the imminent debut of the all-new Subaru Crosstrek in the Philippines, it is likely that the vehicle will be unveiled shortly after. As for pricing, it is estimated that the new model will be priced at around two million Pesos, considering that the outgoing version is currently sold for P1.908 million.
