H0210005 Nagnakaw Dahil Sa Kakulangan Ng Pera part2

Toyota Australia has officially announced that the Hilux will be equipped with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology in the first half of 2024. This advanced system will be seamlessly integrated with the existing 2.8-liter turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine and six-speed automatic transmission. It consists of essential components such as a 48-volt battery, a compact electric motor generator, and other necessary elements.

In Australia, this technology will be standard across all dual-cab 4×4 SR5 and Rogue models, while the dual-cab 4×4 SR will have the option to add it. Toyota assures that this innovative system will deliver significant benefits. According to Toyota, “certain” Hilux models can expect an approximate 10 percent improvement in fuel economy compared to the non-electrified 2.8-liter engine. Additionally, the hybrid system will enhance driveability and contribute to reduced noise, vibration, and harshness levels.

Sean Henley added that the introduction of this new technology in the Hilux will bring multiple advantages beyond improved fuel consumption. Customers can look forward to enhanced on and off-road performance, elevating the appeal of the Hilux for weekend getaways or extended excursions into the outback.

Interestingly, Toyota has taken a distinct approach when it comes to labeling Hilux’s new technology. Unlike some automakers who classify their mild-hybrid vehicles as “hybrids,” Toyota has opted to refer to it as the Toyota Hilux with 48-volt technology, quite a mouthful if you ask us.

This deliberate choice is most likely aimed at preventing any confusion with Toyota’s conventional hybrids, which offer even higher fuel efficiency and have gained significant popularity, surpassing their combustion-powered counterparts in model lines such as the Corolla Cross HEV, RAV4 and of course, the Camry. Toyota says more information will be provided about this new tech once
